Trent Willmon's Green Chile Cheeseburgers

(CountryWeekly.com)

The "Beer Man' singer and grill master shares his take on a classic--with just enough "Texas bite!"

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 lbs. ground burger
  • 2 envelopes Lipton Onion Soup Mix (mushroom and garlic are great, too)
  • Two 4-oz. cans chopped green chiles
  • ½ stick real butter, softened to room temperature
  • 2 tbsp. dry ranch dressing mix
  • Sliced cheddar cheese

PREPARATION:
  1. In a large bowl, mix the burger, soup mix and chiles well (a potato masher works great, or use your hands).
  2. Combine the butter and ranch dressing mix.
  3. As you make patties, place a beer-top-sized dab of the butter mix in the middle of the patty and fold it over to seal the butter inside the burger.
  4. Grill to well done over a high heat and add cheese while still hot. Your buddies will be impressed!
