June 28, 2007 — Keith Urban made sure his wife Nicole Kidman's 40th birthday celebration went off with a bang last week — by lighting up the sky above Bowen, Australia.
The San Francisco Chronicle reports that Keith flew in to help the actress celebrate her milestone birthday on Wednesday, but she had no idea that he had gone to great lengths to organize a fireworks display for her.
A set party at restaurant Three Sixty on the Hill had been canceled, according to the Sydney Daily Telegraph, when Nicole discovered the plans. Proprietor Jenny Curtis says, "It was all canceled because Nicole found out about it and she wanted a quiet affair." Instead, Nicole, who has has been filming the movie, Australia, in Bowen, was taken to the top of Flagstaff Hill to watch the display, which included a "Happy Birthday, Nicole" set on a grid close to the ground.
The couple's celebrations continued into this week as they celebrated their first wedding anniversary on Monday. Meanwhile, Keith is the latest name to be added to the bill of the New York leg of Al Gore's Live Earth concerts on July 7.
